How-to - Install/Update the ServiceNow CMDB CI Class Models plug-in

Aim

The CMDB CI Class Models extends the CMDB with more CI Classes than the out-of-the-box ServiceNow CMDB. Additional CI Classes may be required for some CI Sync Source System record sets that rely on destination CI Classes not available in the out-of-the-box ServiceNow CMDB.

How-To Install the CMDB CI Class Models Plug-In

  1. Assess the use/inclusion of this plug-in in your ServiceNow (i.e. ensure you are comfortable installing the plug-in).

  2. Search for Plugins via the ServiceNow navigation menu.

  3. Search for the CMDB CI Class Models plug-in

  4. Click Add -> Install and follow the instructions provided by ServiceNow.

How-To Update the CMDB CI Class Models Plug-In

  1. Assess the impact of updating this plug-in in your ServiceNow (i.e. ensure you are comfortable updating the plug-in).

  2. Search for Plugins via the ServiceNow navigation menu.

  3. Click the Installed tab

  4. Check if the plug-is Up to date (or not). If not, follow the prompts to update it.
