Rule Synopsis
These are the rule/s that control whether CI Sync automatic deletes Manufacturers (or not) from the ServiceNow Company (core_company) table.
Rule Details and Default
-
By default, CI Sync does not delete existing Manufacturer records from the ServiceNow core_company table.
This may be useful if the additional Manufacturer records created/inserted from source system (via CI Sync) have value within ServiceNow beyond just the source system related assets/CIs.
Override Options
Context
Customers may consider overriding the default rule so that CI Sync does delete Manufacturer records from the company table.
Options
-
The rule can be amended so CI Sync does delete existing Manufacturer records from the ServiceNow core_company table.
If enabled, the deletion conditions are as follows:
-
Only Manufacturer records are in-scope for deletion (no other type of company records).
-
CI Sync will delete records previously created or referenced by CI Sync (i.e. this means CI Sync may delete records created manually or from any other source).
-
CI Sync only deletes the Manufacturer record when there are no remaining references from individual CI records (either main/parent CIs or child CI records) to the Manufacturer record in core_company.
This rule is not currently applied to Lansweeper Cloud as the source system of a given CI Sync job. Syncfish are currently researching the ability to include this rule for Lansweeper Cloud in the future. (information valid as at )

Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:
