Rule Synopsis
These are the rule/s that control whether CI Sync synchronizes, and therefore sets, the Manufacturer attribute on various child records of the main/parent CI. The list of child record manufacturers covered by these rules are described further below.
Rule Details and Default
-
By default, CI Sync does not sync/set each of the listed Manufacturers (as read from the source system asset record) on the related child records of the main/parent CI. This default position is to avoid a proliferation of additional Manufacturers values within ServiceNow (i.e. there is a large variety of Manufacturers on these child records and sync’ing/setting these into ServiceNow may create unnecessary noise).
This rule applies to the Manufacturer attribute on each individual CI (i.e. whether CI Sync sets a foreign key reference between the individual CI and the Manufacturer Master Data table (i.e. the core_company table) in ServiceNow). Please read Relatd Rules for the rules related to the Manufacturer Master Data table.
