Rule Synopsis
These are the rule/s that control whether CI Sync automatic creates/inserts new manufacturers, carriers and vendors (or not) into the ServiceNow Company (core_company) table.
Rule Details and Default
-
By default, CI Sync does create/insert new records in the ServiceNow core_company table when an incoming manufacturer, carrier or vendor value from the source system cannot be matched to an existing record in the table.
Note: This rule is relevant to any/all manufacturer records read from the source system including manufacturers related to the main/parent CI and manufacturers related to child records (i.e. sub-component records) associated with the main/parent CI.
Override Options
Context
Customers may consider overriding the default rule so that CI Sync does not create/insert into the company table for new manufacturers, carriers and vendors read from the source system (i.e. to maintain referential integrity between the CI Manufacturer attribute and core_company table entries).
Options
-
The rule can be amended so CI Sync does not create/insert new core_company records.
Overriding via Connection Settings
Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:
