Rule 7 – Interoperate with the ServiceNow Field Normalisation Plug-In

Rule Synopsis

These are the rule/s that control how CI Sync can interoperate with ServiceNow Field Normalisation Plug-in for the purpose of Manufacturer value normalisation.

Rule Details and Default

  • This rule is only applicable for customers who have enabled the ServiceNow Field Normalisation Plug-In for manufacturers.

  • For such customers, the default manufacturer correlation behaviour of CI Sync will not work correctly when CI Sync attempts to match manufacturer values from the incoming source system assets against the ServiceNow core_company table.

Override Options

Context

Customers will need to override the default if they have enabled ServiceNow Field Normalization for Manufacturer values.

Options

  1. This rule can be overridden to inform CI Sync the destination ServiceNow instance is using the ServiceNow Field Normalisation Plug-In for manufacturers.

  2. In addition to enabling this rule, customers must supply the sys_id of the field normalisation configuration record created in ServiceNow (in order to declare the configuration record sys_id to CI Sync).

Overriding via Connection Settings

Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:
