Rule 16 - Suppress CI Insert for Non-Active Assets in Lansweeper On-Prem

Rule Synopsis

These are the rule/s that control whether CI Sync inserts a new CI for Lansweeper assets that are in an Non-Active state.

Rule Details and Default

  • By default, CI Sync does not suppress inserting of new CIs for any assets in an Non-Active state in Lansweeper. Or stated another way, CI Sync does indeed insert (create) new CIs for assets in Lansweeper that are in an Non-Active state.

Override Options

Context

Customers may consider overriding the default rule if they want CI Sync to not insert new CIs for assets that are Non-Active in Lansweeper. This may be useful if customers have no need for Non-Active Lansweeper assets to exist in their CMDB.

Options

  1. The rule can be amended so that CI Sync does suppress the insertion of (i.e. creation of) CIs in their CMDB for assets that are Non-Active in Lansweeper.

Overriding via Connection Settings

Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:

  1. For a general overview of CI Sync Connection Settings please read Understanding the use of CI Sync Connection Settings.

  2. For the specific CI Sync Connection Setting/s related to the rule described on this page please read Insert Suppression for Non-Active Records in Lansweeper On-Prem
