Rule Synopsis
These are the rule/s that control how CI Sync either passes through or transforms the following two attributes/values for CI records created from InTune assets:

The format of the Windows OS Version
-
The format of the Windows OS Name (i.e. the Windows OS itself)
Rule Details
By default
-
CI Sync passes through the Windows OS Version in it’s native format (e.g. 10.0.26200.7623).

CI Sync passes through the Windows OS Name in it’s native format (e.g. “Windows”)
Override Options
Context
-
Customers may consider overriding the default rule to transform the Windows OS Version into another format such as YYH1/2 format (e.g. transform 10.0.26200.7623 to 25H2).

Customers may consider overriding the default rule to transform the Windows OS Name into another format such as Major Version (10 or 11) and the SKU (“Pro”, “Enterprise”, etc) to create a composite OS name (e.g. transform “Windows” to “Windows 11 Pro”).
Options

The rule can be amended to transform the Windows OS Version into YYH1/2 format.

The rule can be amended to transform the Windows OS Name into OS Name + Major Version + SKU format.
Overriding via Connection Settings
Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:
