Rule 13 - Syncing records with a null serial number for InTune

Rule Synopsis

These are the rule/s that control whether CI sync will (or not) create CIs if the Serial Number is empty in InTune.

Rule Details and Default

  • By default, records with a null (or empty) Serial Number will not be inserted into ServiceNow.

Override Options

Context

Customers may consider overriding this rule so that CI Sync will create CIs in ServiceNow with an empty value in Serial Number attribute of the CI.

Syncfish recommend customers carefully consider changing this default rule as CIs without a Serial Number increase the risk of duplicates CIs being created.

Options

  1. This Data Sync Rule can be overridden so that CI Sync will create CIs in ServiceNow with an empty value in Serial Number attribute of the CI.

Overriding via Connection Settings

Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:

  1. For a general overview of CI Sync Connection Settings please read Understanding the use of CI Sync Connection Settings.

  2. For the specific CI Sync Connection Setting/s related to the rule described on this page please read Prevent syncing records with a null serial number for InTune

For documentation on all CI Sync Connection Settings please visit the page tree Connection Setting Guides.
