Rule 19 - Mac Operating System (OS) and Version formatting for InTune

Rule Synopsis

These are the rule/s that control how CI Sync either passes through or transforms the format of the Mac OS and OS Version attribute/value for Windows CIs created from InTune.

Rule Details

By default

  • CI Sync passes through the Mac OS Format in its raw format, i.e. it reads the operating system value from the operatingSystem.caption or osMetadata.fullName.

  • CI Sync passes through the Mac OS Version in its native format (e.g. 15.7.7).

Override Options

Context

  • Customers may consider overriding the default rule to transform the Mac OS Format into another format such as OS & Version (e.g. transform macOS to macOS Sequoia).

  • Customers may consider overriding the default rule to transform the Mac OS Version into another format such as a Friendly format (e.g. transform 15.7.7 to Sequoia).

Options

  1. The rule can be amended to transform the Mac OS Format into OS & Version or OS & YYH1/2 format.

  2. The rule can be amended to transform the Mac OS Version into YYH1/2 format.

Overriding via Connection Settings

Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:
