Rule 17 - Setting device location from Assigned to User location for InTune

Rule Synopsis

These are the rule/s that control whether CI Sync will (or not) set the location attribute of a device to the location of its Assigned to User for InTune assets in ServiceNow CIs.

Rule Details and Default

  • By default, the device location will not be set based on the Assigned to User's location when synchronizing into ServiceNow CIs.

Override Options

Context

Customers may consider overriding this rule so that CI Sync will automatically set the device's location attribute to the location of the user the device is assigned to when syncing CIs into ServiceNow.

Options

  1. This Data Sync Rule can be overridden so that CI Sync will set the device location to the location of the Assigned to User for CIs in ServiceNow.

Overriding via Connection Settings

Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:
