These are the rule/s that control how CI Sync preferences the OS and os_version values for CIs created from Lansweeper Cloud.

By default

CI Sync preferences Operating System Caption or OS Metadata, i.e. it reads the values from the operatingSystem object if values are present, otherwise reads the values from the osMetadata obect.

Customers may consider overriding the default rule to change the Operating System Source Preference.
Options

The rule can be amended to change the Operating System Source Preference to one of the following:

Operating System Caption (only) - reads the operating system and version values from the operatingSystem object only.

OS Metadata (only)- reads the operating system and version values from the osMetadata object only.

OS Metadata or Operating System Caption - reads the values from the osMetadata object if values are present, otherwise reads the values from the operatingSystem obect.

Overriding via Connection Settings
Customers can perform the override using a “Connection Setting” via the CI Sync User Interface (i.e. customers can perform the overrides themselves). Additional information for this is available via the following documentation:
