Rule 6 - Automatic Creation of new Choice Records in ServiceNow for Jamf

Rule Synopsis

These are the rule/s that control whether CI Sync automatic creates/inserts new Choice records (or not) into the ServiceNow Company (sys_choice) table.

Rule Details and Default

  • By default, CI Sync does create/insert new records in the ServiceNow sys_choice table when an incoming Jamf attribute (related to choice values) cannot be matched to an existing record in the table.

  • The table below shows the range of attribute types which may generate new sys_choice values.

Override Options

Context

Customers may consider overriding the default rule so that CI Sync does not extend the table include choice values read from Jamf according to the table shown below.

  1. This Data Sync Rule can be overridden so that CI Sync does not create/insert new sys_choice records.

Overriding via Connection Settings

Not Available - Requires a Custom Data Sync Rule (and therefore a Syncfish Support Plan to modify the default behaviour)
