Rule 11 - Which VMware Custom Field used to store Application Service Mapping Service ID value

Rule Synopsis

These are the rules that define the VMware Custom Field name used to store the ServiceNow Business Application Service ID, enabling CI Sync to establish application service mapping relationships in the destination ServiceNow instance.

Rule Details and Default

  • CI Sync Enterprise Edition can be used to create dependency relationships between infrastructure assets discovered by VMware and Business Applications created in ServiceNow.

  • CI Sync relies on a Service ID value (obtained from ServiceNow) to create the dependency relationship.

  • The Service ID is typically stored in a Custom Field VMware, and therefore CI Sync must be told the name of the Custom Field.

  • This CI Sync rule allows the Custom Field to be declared and used by CI Sync for the above operation.
