Rule Synopsis

These are the rule/s that automatically determine and create the CI-to-CI relationships (dependencies) for each Microsoft 365 Resource/CI Type.

The default rule/s are described by the table below which show the default CI-to-CI Relationships per Resource/CI Type.

SharePoint Sites

  • Site Owned By Microsoft 365 Group

Microsoft 365 Groups

  • Group Owns Sharepoint Site

  • Group Owners (an Owned By relationship type)#1

  • Group Members (an Contains relationship type)#1

Security Groups

  • Security Group Owners (an Owned By relationship type)#1

  • Security Group Members (an Contains relationship type)#1

Distribution Lists

  • Distribution List Owners (an Owned By relationship type)#1

  • Distribution List Members (an Contains relationship type)#1

Shared Mailboxes

  • N/A

#1 - These relationships are cmdb_rel_person records that link a user from sys_user to the the cmdb_ci_group record that represents the M365 Group or Exchange Online Distribution List.

Override Options

Context

Customers may be seeking more CI-to-CI relationships (dependencies) than those shown above.

Options

  1. Additional Relationships can be added (if the source system offers addtional ones).

Overriding via Connection Settings

Not Available - Requires a Custom Data Sync Rule (and therefore a Syncfish Support Plan to modify the default behaviour)
