The screen shot is provided only as sample to assist when reading this page. The state of your own CI Sync UI will depend on whether you are starting from the CI Sync default position or if you have already amended one/more of the settings.

  1. Tick the Override default box/boxes and then use the sliders related to the individual settings. The following table elaborates any further information about these particular settings.

Additional Notes

Suppress Inserts for records with scanning errors

Slider

When enabled, records from Lansweeper with scanning errors will NOT be inserted as new CIs to the CMDB.

If not enabled, records from Lansweeper will scanning errors will be inserted as new CIs.

Ignore scanning errors for Error Types matching

RegEx

A regular expression (RegEx) that determines which scanning Error Types are not suppressed (i.e. are allowed through for synchronization to the CMDB).

Example RegEx

/Printer Driver/

RegEx Explained

By default, this property is set to /Printer Drivers/ which results in only records with a scanning error other than “Printer Driver” being ignored.

Ignore scanning errors for devices running lsAgent

Slider

Devices with the lsAgent installed often have failures from agentless scans (IP Subnet/network scans) because the device is not visible to scanned subnets (e.g. Work from home devices).

If enabled, this setting causes CI Sync to ignore scan errors on devices running lsAgent and instead synchronize those devices to the CMDB. The specific scan errors ignored for lsAgent devices is controlled by the next setting below (i.e. the RegEx below).

Ignore lsAgent device scanning errors for Error Types matching

RegEx

If the prior setting is enabled, this regular expression (RegEx) determines which scanning Error Types (for lsAgent devices) are ignored (i.e. allowed through for synchronization to the CMDB)

Example RegEx

/Access Denied|Ping failed|RPC Unavailable/

RegEx Explained

By default, this property is set to /Access Denied|Ping failed|RPC Unavailable/ which results in devices running lsAgent to not suppress inserts if the error type is either:

  • Access Denied; or:

  • Ping failed; or:

  • RPC Unavailable

  1. After modify the settings, scroll to the bottom of the page, tick the “I consent…” checkbox and finally click the Save connection button.

  2. You can now run a sync job and the amended settings will be applied causing the CI Sync Data Sync rules to be modified accordingly.

Importantly

Make sure you consciously override the setting against either your TEST or PROD environment (i.e. your TEST vs PROD sync jobs).

For more information on how to use TEST vs PROD Connection Settings please read Understanding the use of CI Sync Connection Settings.

Syncfish strongly recommend making changes for TEST environment/sync jobs first. Only modify PROD related settings after thoroughly validating the intended results in TEST.
